| Hi, I hope you don’t mind me posting this here, I came across your website and was wondering if some one might be able to help me. We are making a television series on different forms of transport around the world. We have a team of 3 guys travelling from Ireland to Australia overland, (One of them is Charley Boorman, the actor who travelled around the world on a motorbike with Ewan McGregor) All along the way we are arranging for them to travel on cargo trucks, container ships, fruit lorries, bicycles etc etc. I am trying to find an interesting story within Nanning and was hoping you might be able to help me.
Ideally what we are looking for is some one within the town that uses a certain type of transport to get around. i.e our team travelled on a small boat around Venice with a man who delivers fruit to the hotels in the morning.
In Nepal the team travelled around Kathmandu on an old truck with a team of guys delivering yogurts in small clay pots.
Cargo ships in Iran and old russian trucks in Georgia. Recycling collectors on bicycles in Guangzhou and Carpet delivering vans in Serbia.
We are very open to ideas but it should involve interaction between our team and someone who lives locally but also a form of transport, ideally appropriate to the town or country. Is there anyone in the town that has a daily routine on a bicycle/raft/tractor/boat/motorbike or similar that makes deliveries, sells food, fixes broken items, etc etc..Maybe a fisherman that travels down the river everyday to collect his nets?
We are also looking for an exciting way for our team to travel from Nanning to Pingxiang maybe on a livestock lorry or something similar.
We only have 2 days to arrange this, so I would love to know if anything springs to mind asap
Please have a look at our website
www.byanymeans.co.uk and the website from our last project wwww.longwaydown.com
If you feel you might be able to help please let me know and I will give you a ring.
Thanks againOllie |
