Culture, Tradition and Education
Just what are they and why do so many use them as an excuse? Myself included.

Culture

It's part of the culture - It's a cultural thing - From when?

Arts collectively
Art, music, literature, and related intellectual activities, considered collectively

Knowledge and sophistication
Enlightenment and sophistication acquired through education and exposure to the arts.

Shared beliefs and values of group
The beliefs, customs, practices, and social behaviour of a particular nation or people.

People with shared beliefs and practises
A group of people whose shared beliefs and practices identify the particular place, class, or time to which they belong.

Shared attitudes
A particular set of attitudes that characterizes a group of people.

Tradition

She is/I am a traditional Chinese lady - What is that?

Custom or belief
A long-established action or pattern of behaviour in a community or group of people, often one that has been handed down from generation to generation.

Body of customs
A body of long-established customs and beliefs viewed as a set of precedents.

Handing down of customs
The handing down of patterns of behaviour, practices, and beliefs that are valued by a culture.

Education

Educating
The imparting and acquiring of knowledge through teaching and learning, especially at a school or similar institution.

Knowledge
The knowledge or abilities gained through being educated

Instruction
Training and instruction in a particular subject

Culture can and does change over time, it evolves and what is often the major factor causing this change over time? - Education.
So, by that reasoning - Culture is education based, by educating you can directly change a culture and therefore the traditions also.
Both culture and tradition are time and age critical.
It is my own belief that all three, culture, tradition and education are inextricably linked.
So when we use or hear, "traditional Chinese lady" or "it is part of the culture" should we also expect a time frame to be added to the statement.
If not we must assume it is present day and how on earth can you define either of these 'today', surely only history can show what they were because culture, tradition and education for that matter, are in a continual state of flux.
