In Beijing i had one day left before i flew out (pre- meeting my wife), i thought i would catch a taxi from my hotel into Tianamen Square to just wander around and look at the people and maybe line up to check out the chairman lying in state. Enjoyable day, now when you get there you have the choice of heading to the steeper more popular section or the easier section the opposite way. Having gone both ways (the wall guys) i would suggest the easier section for anyone with leg,hip or heart problems, even this way is not an easy climb but you don't have so many groups wandering through, no matter which side you choose there will be hawkers trying to sell you everything cheap and fake. ...
